Well, you know, I think it's the sense of invincibility that comes with the lack of experience and age. I mean, how else are you going to know that going into that turn with that speed without really knowing the condition and potential of your vehicle's abilities, not to mention your own abilities, would result in a catastrophe without pushing the limits?

But again, after a seemingly close call on a given 20 mph curve going near 60 in my stock 99 integra with only maybe a total of a month of accumulated driving experience, I kind of take it easier on turns and have more sympathy and patience for "cautious" drivers on roads that do require a bit of a light foot.

On a more...ignorant? note, I still take that turn at 60, but now I know a tad bit more about taking curves at a higher speed. Granted I do slow down when it rains, I've yet to hydroplane as a result, but I'm sure that now that I've said it, the next time it rains I will hydroplane and cause a 15 hour backup with three 18 wheelers and an oil tanker on I-95.

EDIT: Update, today it rained, and yet I turned out OK.

City boys? I think we've discussed I grew up in rural Iowa....30 miles from any store like walmart, target, etc.......I know what you mean, but I enjoy living in the city, where I live 1/4 mile from BK, Taco Bell, DQ, KFC, and McDonalds.
