Everyone loves a DJ
« on: December 09, 2009, 11:14:26 AM »
Hey ladies,

Thought I would join the forum and see whats up.
You can usually find me hanging on the DOD server just hanging out.

I'm currently doing the student thing....
Went back to school for Computer Systems Technician - Security

If I am not at school I can usually be found on the KEA DOD Server or at the club or party DJing
I also sneak a little music production in when I can.

My setup is 2 Pioneer CDJ 400's, 2 Stanton T.62B's on a DJM - 700 then through a Rane SL 3 from Serato. The turntables are running time coded vinyl which is used with Virtual DJ. I also have the Hercules RMX Controller for parties but got the new Stanton SC system 3 coming in the mail for goofing around with.

I have been using less and less of my CDJ's since going time coded though.
Nice to be back with the vinyl feel again.

For headphones I got the Pioneer SE-DJ 5000s last week to replace a pair of Sennheisers I had

For clubs I use the top section the cdj's, 4 channel mixer and time coded vinyl but for parties I just use time coded and the rmx. The rmx works as a 2 channel mixer and sound card all in one so saves me carrying to much equipment.

Sennheiser is pretty lame as far as sound quality but you have to remember as a DJ sound quality although we like to think its important isn't that much. When mixing you  need to be able to hear the beat of a track that is just being monitored (not playing to the crowed) so sound quality has nothing to really do with anything. (note that is for basic mixing for more advanced you may need to hear vocals, melodies or baselines to line stuff up just right)

When producing music on the other hand its important that the range is here.

If you like the HD 595's try the Pioneers I have...
Sound better and can take a pretty bad beating.
