I know infantryman's already made a post about this, but...his post requires photoshop and takes a bit longer..

while this one takes literally less than 3 minutes and is made with gimp

OR you can open a picture in paintshop make it 256x256 and save it wherever. Then select it as your screenshot.

that is the most simple way to do it as rambo said, this is not needed but if you do want to do the extra work than go ahead
