I keep getting an error when trying to open steam

steam.exe(mainexception):cmultifield(pspecialized)partial fied header at end of record

Any ideas????

i had a problem a few days ago where it wouldn't open up, gave me an error where it said it couldn't connect to steam servers or some shit...couldn't find anything via google so i was stuck with a reinstall

doesn't take too long, 10-15 for d/l and install and patching/updating
