Need tips on new PC

(1/2) > >>

tlopez:
Hey guys! Having been playing much with yall for 2 reasons:
1) I have bad lag issues on Rambo's server (9-10 fps), so I couldn't play
2) My PC can barely run MW2, much less likely to run BFBC2 properly so I don't have it

So...I am finally getting a new laptop for college. I was wondering what suggestions you guys have for laptops I should buy (brand, ram, processor, video card, etc).
My budget is about 1000Eu, approximately $1200.
Preferably 15"-16"
It should be able to handle good graphics for engineering course

If I have money left over after the summer (after the parties and shit) I might get a desktop PC, any suggestions on this would also be great. The budget is unknown but probably also at 1000Eu

Glox:
I have this for 700$ after some shopping around:

Intel i5 2.66 Quad $160
mobo msi p55-gd65 $135
ram ocz 4gig $75
HIS Radeon HD 5770 1gb $130
+ case fans psu etc

so its really easy to build a desktop

i lived in rotterdam for a while and if i had 1000Euros, id buy a comp off craigslist for 250Eu, put 500 euros way in the bank to bang hookers in the red light district on a weekly basis and id stash way the other 250 to chase the magic dragon. ^-^ what he said is a good config though

pixiestyx:
that laptop would handle todays games, wouldn't be a great as a desktop with a top graphics card, but it'll do.

Thanks they give me a good indication.
Plus i was wondering what is a good router? I was thinking of Links routers such as:
Simultaneous Dual-N Band Wireless Router
or
Wireless-N Broadband Router with Storage Link
both on: http://www.linksysbycisco.com/EU/en/products/Routers

Are these any good or should i go with a different brand router?
