Need new graphics card

better drivers? AMD fired their driver maker back in december and drivers have been rock solid. also, what about 197.75 and GTX 590 release drivers that let their cards explode. normally i would advise a single card, but i dont think the GTX580 is worth it. price/performance sucks dick. the whole fermi architecture sucks dick. its too expensive to make with little benefits over cayman. the 460 and 560 have been the only good cards from nVidia. two good cards sense the 8800. bad. but then again AMDs whole driver issues during the 5000 series sucks even more dicks. and the heat issues with the 4800 series is terrible. doesnt compare to the 470/480 tho. what resolution are you gaming in? becasue if its 1920x1200 or less the 1GB 6950s will work the same, and cost less.

pixiestyx:
Heat is only a problem in certain cases.  My 460s come down in temps very quickly, and the auto fan control on the newer fermi cards is way better than the auto control on my older gts 250.

TastyTaste:
msi gtx 580 lightning is cooler, cheaper and uses less power than 2 6950s in crossfire by ALOT.  Did tonsss of research.  And if i oc it to 900 (ref is 772, lightning is 832) it'll be a little ways off from dual 6950 setup.  Not bad imo.

its still fucking expensive for a single card.  especially when a 6970 performs almost the same for $150 less.

TastyTaste:
^ not from the benchmarks i've seen, when oc'd to 900 at the core, its about 18% on average "better" than the 6970 lightning.  if you take it over 1gig...well it then bridges the gap closer to dual setups but wouldnt wanna do that for heat and power.
