ban em, i'm not saying i'm going to buy this, as i'm poor and just built a computer, but that's what i would do for a decent system that would last for a few years.  unless i get rich, i'll be slowly modding this computer.  but yeah, i'd be perfectly content with that set up, if i did buy it, i'd erase my current computer, and re-install my vista home premium 64bit.

The system is priced well for the power of system, and leaves lots of room for expanding, could buy a 3rd video card, another velocoraptor, etc.

up it to ddr3 memory!
is it really worth it? i was gonna buy me an AM2 setup..but now im tempted to go AM3 cause of the ddr3 capability..its more expensive overall but if you guys think its worth my while ill get rid of the idea of gettin a gtx 260 and go with ddr3

from my experience, yes. but if you would have to downgrade from getting a gtx 260, then I would probably say no. but I would sleep on it personally.

these two are cheaper than the ones you have posted.. and should be more than enough.. the second has a combined 50 amps.. which is more than enough to even run gtx 280's in sli..

are you sure ding?  I was looking at Nvidia's site and they have a pulldown of their "approved" sli psu's for the certain video cards, and just for 2 260's in sli the smallest PSU was at least 750W.
