Yes, it's a beauty, and it's a TV, which is also fun, I don't even have to get up, just switch inputs to antenna to watch something, :)

ATi is always better, enjoy your housefire with a 480. not to mention that thing sucks power like nothing else. as much as a 5970, which is the most powerful grafics card on the market, due to its dual GPU's.
if you need CUDA or PhysX then get a GTX 480, but for dual monitors eyefinity is king.
2 GTX 460's in SLI are the same price as a GTX 480, but  with more preformance. but both are more expensive than a 5870.

CONFIDENCE Man:
Yeah, I have the ATI Radeon HD 5870 myself. It runs well, though I wish it was faster in Metro 2033. I'm running at 1080p (1920 x 1080) though.

The other components in my system are:

Gigabyte X58A-UD7 motherboard
Core i7 920 CPU, at stock speed
6GB RAM
620 watt Enermax PSU
1 TB hard drive

metro 2033 is made more for nVidia cars, as it is able to "utilize NVIDIA 3D Vision with compatible cards and hardware."
but i like how you only have a 620W PSU. if you wanted to go with a GTX 470 or 480 you would need atleast a 650 or 700W and good air cooling.

haha you contradicted yourself with the same post there silly.  I was thinking of getting the 5870 but now that the new gtx460 1GB cards are comin out i'll consider two of them in SLI.  their $220.00 each and run better (more power efficient) and faster than a single 5870 or gtx480 or 5970 (when you consider price/performance ratio) for that matter!  $440.00 for two cards in SLI with better performance than a single card that costs the same or even more (WAY fuckin more). If your thinking of getting the same make sure its the 1GB version not the 768 one.  Nvidia should have gone with a different naming SKU for the both cards as it will be confusing for a lot of people.   Heres a review  http://www.anandtech.com/show/3809/nvidias-geforce-gtx-460-the-200-king
