i have a 9600 gso, it works for dod, but i get about 60 fps average on avalanche, on a good day at least. it'll play the game, but if you can go bigger, i would. i'm looking to go bigger, but it'll be a while.

-
Does that thing fit into my mobo slots? I dont have a pci 2.0 thing

Its fact of life for some people...

hey.. dont knock the people who cant afford expensive cards or can control themselves from draining money into their pc rigs...
you dont have to worry about pcie 2.0 for the video card.. the motherboard you have is pcie 1.0, but all pcie 2.0 cards are backwards compatible with pcie 1.0..
so in the future when you get a 2.0 motherboard.. you wont have to upgrade your card right away..

The price range was for my old pc. That is why I didn't want to sink 100+ into something my dad is going to play civ4 on.
Got the card today. Yay new egg. Didnt run DoD yet to check fps but I can actually see shit in GTA4 so its a big win!

I want to get another gig of ram too. Since my mobo says DDR400 I get that type, correct?

I don't blame him. If a card costs more than $100 it isn't worth it in my opinion, just wait a month or 2 and it will be $50-70. I am cheap myself.... ;D

Id get a good card if the rest of the comp was good. I need a card, cpu, and mobo then. If Im getting all that I might as well throw in an extra 200 for a whole new comp.
