Kansas
« on: September 16, 2009, 07:14:56 PM »
Well its day three in Kansas and my third night in a different city.  I am just wondering when the roads in Wichita are going to be finished.  It really sucks during rush hour.

Yea, the BBQ is better the closer you get to K.C.  BTW I do have family outside of Topeka but visiting them I would not consider vacation.  Visiting family is not my idea of a "vacation"

Yeah Wichita roads have been like that for years.I-35,Kellogg
We do have some kick ass BBQ.
Its funny people always think of/mention KC when talking about KS.
The Kansas side of KC is mostly surburb the majority of KC in MO.
I have learned to tolerate Kansas, its boring but theres worse places.

I guess prison or the cemetery would be worse. Kansas is like Iowa a few towns and all farmland.

actually the KS side of KC is pretty nice too.. definitely much safer and the MO side..  and yes living in KS is like living in a retirement home.. you have a few hours of activity.. i.e. your job, family etc.. and then you spend the rest of the day bored as shit!

but the upside is that.. safe, friendly neighborhoods.. good food, good shopping.. and for those who like to watch cars make 5000 left turns.. there's nascar..

Somehow i knew Jim would weigh in on this LOL.
The things i dont like is how the Weather changes so much and..
The fact that theres no great scenery, mountains,GOOD lakes, etc
Im pretty conservative so i like it here VS San Fransicko or Seattle, etc
Its a good place to raise a family, not great for young people or singles.
