Title: Sapphire Radeon HD 4890 OC, Thoughts?
Post by: Shadow of Enigma on June 05, 2009, 01:02:09 PM
I made a thread earlier about how my old 8800GTS (640) up and died on me, so I've been doing some research into buying another card. I've never used an ATI card and I'm kind of worried about not having the EVGA "limited warranty". Here's the exact card I plan on buying:

http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=39586 (http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=39586)

I've planned my budget to be about $350 CAD (including tax), so I was wondering if this card is good for the money, if I should stick with ATI, or if there are any other cards I should be looking at instead of this one?

Thanks,

Shadow, I have a 4870 and it's whisper quiet. The 4800 series is a great generation of Video card.

Well, I was going to post and say FUCK ATI, go with Nvidea but after reading the specs on that card I would be interested to know how it performs and how hard the fan has to work to stop it from melting.
It looks good on paper, the specs for the price are appealing. Keep us posted.
